Palaeodom Posted September 4, 2010 Share Howsit, fitting a new gear cabling system and hoping for some advise on which ones are best. Any idea? The Gore seems to be good but expensive the other options are the Transfil flying snake (?) and Mudlovers. The price is certainly an issue and at R770 for the Gore in SA it may be worth a package from CRC.
Johan Bornman Posted September 4, 2010 Share Dont waste your money, use standard cable - Shimano or Giant or Jagwire or similar. Cable is a consumable and there's nothing to gain from using more expensive cable.
Palaeodom Posted September 4, 2010 Share So the anti-friction and non-compression merketing is just a gimic? or only needed for pro riders? You're happy that standard shimano run with continous housing is the best option?
Johan Bornman Posted September 4, 2010 Share Yes, no and yes.
Climate Posted September 6, 2010 Share If your lugs cater for non-continuous cable housing, I'd advise keeping it like that ... just get a set of XTR tongue and shields where the cable housing ends.
Ha Ha Kieran Posted September 6, 2010 Share What about Aligator iLinks?
Sharkie 2 Posted September 6, 2010 Share Cabling is cabling it wont make a difference, if you really want to make a splash of cash at cables get yourself a XTR cable set they about R290 odd if I remember correctly
stewie911 Posted September 6, 2010 Share Rather get SRAM gears. Then you don't even need the housings. (Leaving the office now)
