Shebeen Posted October 28, 2010 Share Long story but doing an adventure race(eden duo) on a borrowed bike this weekend, about 70kms of mainly provincial road(should have got a cx bike) Anyway, its an 8 spd bike, will 9spd links be too thin if there's a chain issue? Tankman Posted October 29, 2010 Share I once used a 9 speed link on a 10 speed chain for months without any issues.The 9 speed link is slightly wider than a 10 speed chain.
