ChrisF Posted December 29, 2019 Share What a stunning day to ride !! Did my solo Sunday ride, from home over the N1, past St John's, UP Odendaal ..... Entered Traverse to these breathtaking views !! Apparently I burnt a few matches .... last few hills of Traverse seemed just a bit steeper than normal .... Passed on the coffee, and opted for a cold drink at Bloemendal. Back via Protea corridor, then tried a route I heard off ... up the hill between the farms and Protea hotel, with the idea to go through the gate at Protea hotel ..... got to the Majic Forest fence before I realised I must have missed the gate .... back UP the hill ... There were two gates - one with a electronic lock, and another with a pad-lock. So all the way back and around the buildings to Protea Hotel. I spoke to the security at Protea Hotel, apparently the old gate has been closed .... Past the dam, over the bridge at CWC, then a little climb up Old Oak ..... 10:00, and the temperature has passed 31 degrees ! My legs were okay, but it was getting HOT !
