Frosty Posted June 19, 2021 Share Nature decided to remind us that it is not summer in Gauteng; Monday is the winter solstice, so technically still autumn. Anyways, best power stats for the season. When did the season start, you may ask? Monday ???????????? Onward and upward. DJR, RocknRolla, ChrisF and 4 others
The Ouzo Posted June 19, 2021 Share As Frosty said, the weather reminded us it’s not spring yet. Sun did not come out until after 9 this morning. If you zoom in on the first pic you can see the sun as a small red ball. Danger Dassie, RocknRolla, Me rida my bicycle and 3 others
Robbie Stewart Posted June 19, 2021 Share It always amazes me to see the striking contrast between Gauteng and the Cape this time of year. The Cape becomes green and lush and Gauteng becomes dreary and dry. Then in December the roles are reversed again. The only thing that still gives the Cape the edge that time of year is all the green vineyards bearing a fresh harvest. 5 minutes ago, ouzo said: As Frosty said, the weather reminded us it’s not spring yet. Perfect peak strategy for TdF - now for some freshness then you’re good to go for the 3 week traveling circus ???? Frosty

Wayne pudding Mol Posted June 19, 2021 Share Wilderness beach to the Hops valley over the Outeniqua pass which feels damn long on a bicycle - to herald and over the back of Montegu, through George and and 7 passes to collect my washed car a bit later than anticipated Hairy, Pikey, Prince Albert Cycles and 14 others 16

RocknRolla Posted June 19, 2021 Share Took a drive out to Hennops MTB trails today. Arrived there midday as most of the masses were leaving. I was pleasantly surprised, the trails are super fun, well maintained and marked. Nothing hectic, a couple of hairpin switchbacks, but In General some of the most fun I had on the bike in a while. The terrain and screnery varies from time to time it’s dry at the moment this way… lest not forget, the neighbourhood… Pelindaba, shrouded in mystery, secrets and clandestine weapons grade plutonium enrichment… i Feel that the routes at hennops could have been named differently, example “ yellowcake road” “pebble bed trail” “reactor road” etc. When they say dont ride in this bridge, they mean it…it’s got a nasty pendulum effect, that gets worse the more you try and counter steer the swing…. and then of course, when in the area, it’s sinful to not go to the alehouse for post ride pizza and beer… the boegoe beer is nice, but the blonde they served today was sublime. (Boegoe Beer pictured) was a great day out. TheoG, ChrisF, Scary Rider and 9 others
