TheoG Posted June 20, 2021 Share 12 hours ago, RocknRolla said: Took a drive out to Hennops MTB trails today. Arrived there midday as most of the masses were leaving. I was pleasantly surprised, the trails are super fun, well maintained and marked. Nothing hectic, a couple of hairpin switchbacks, but In General some of the most fun I had on the bike in a while. The terrain and screnery varies from time to time it’s dry at the moment this way… lest not forget, the neighbourhood… Pelindaba, shrouded in mystery, secrets and clandestine weapons grade plutonium enrichment… i Feel that the routes at hennops could have been named differently, example “ yellowcake road” “pebble bed trail” “reactor road” etc. When they say dont ride in this bridge, they mean it…it’s got a nasty pendulum effect, that gets worse the more you try and counter steer the swing…. and then of course, when in the area, it’s sinful to not go to the alehouse for post ride pizza and beer… the boegoe beer is nice, but the blonde they served today was sublime. (Boegoe Beer pictured) was a great day out. I'm definitely going to give the Hennops trails a shot. Never considered it before ... I'm still trying to accept, that races (not XCO) in Europe are more open track, non technical and super super steep, and that I will be last. Enjoyed my ride, had a nice long chat with the broom wagon NotSoBigBen and SwissVan 1
NotSoBigBen Posted June 20, 2021 Share An absolute hoot to ride, more comfortable than I even thought and that 'magic gear' is ok for round here. Still dealing with some challenges so just short rides taking in boobies, smelly waters, smiles etc. DJR, BogusOne, RocknRolla and 2 others

Jbr Posted June 20, 2021 Share This morning, knowing how hard my workout was going to be I left without arm and leg warmers just my windbreaker, gloves and two buffs (one for the scalp and one for the neck)…. Well after 5 mins I already felt it was going to be a hot one… So weird hey the forecast said if anything it would be cooler than yesterday. I ended up refueling at bottom of chappies with my helmet and face full of salt. Also it was the one time I didn’t put anything in my water thinking I wasn’t gonna sweat that much anyways. I hope you guys enjoyed this beautiful and hot day in Cape Town because the week ahead is looking very *** ! ChrisF
RocknRolla Posted June 20, 2021 Share Logged some time at Avianto today. Rode from home and back. it was great! like I said…. Logged some time…. Geddit? ….geddit? some Father’s day tranquility. About 5kms from home my garmin died. I left it on by accident on the way home yesterday it seems. Watch battery was also kaput, or close to it, so I logged on the phone, using strava. It was cool to ride by “feel” not having the numbers in one’s face, kinda was a novelty. Happy Father’s day to the dad’s ( and a special mention to the wife’s, putting up with our crap) Scary Rider, Louis for real, SwissVan and 4 others 5 1
