Canola fields?

As far as I know. This was the last field that still had some good color left

A full moon ride over Swartberg pass must be awesome

An all-time favoured long-ago memory is (on holiday) leaving the Oudtshoorn in-laws and wife and children to cycle up the Swartberg for a spectacular full-moon and windless clear sky solo camp on the peak in the snow.  Sublime, no really… Sublime.

sorry Chris didn't mean to have a go at you. There are just too many cases of people being killed / maimed by supposedly tame wild animals. And then the animal gets put down. Personally I wouldn't go near any wild animal that is capable of killing me.

Love your Swartberg photos by the way.

Hippos are known to be very dangerous. You'd be better off facing a rhino.

Rhinos do seem to be quite chilled.  They regularly amble up to our vehicle on our weekly nighttime anti-poaching patrols outside PE.  Ain’t getting out of that vehicle though, not a chance.

Years ago, when Midmar dam still had Rhino on their reserve, I did a race that went through there.

I was going down a long, fast jeep track when a rhino ambled across the road in front of me. Brakes were grabbed. Pants were $h@t.
