Christopher Brunsdon Posted January 4, 2011 Share Last year Argus MTB, it was 33C by 9am already and it was post 40C when they called it off. I heard guys saying it was 44C and since I spent a few years of my youth in that part of the world I would tend to agree. The hottest I've ever felt was 48C in my life and that Argus was damn close to that.

Squier Posted January 5, 2011 Share Had to be the Argus MTB last year! Man, that was a scorcher! Not being able to do any of the seeding races as they were all down in the Cape we started in the last batch. I recall someone saying that it was 47 degrees when the race doctor called it off. I remember pushing both my bike and my wife's bike up the climbs while she was lying in the shade in the vineyard! I remember the vineyards being lined with riders as that was the only shade available at that stage. Man, that was something else... no breeze, no nothing! We were halfway when we were told to turn around, the race has been called off... Anyway, we decided to go back for some more punishment this year! Can't wait!!
