Regarding the spacers mentioned by Niner on the 68 I am not sure if you can or not but perhaps the answer would be to get one anyway and try it unless someone knows better as to whether or not i will be wasting my time. I am based in CT and most of the bike shops told me that they will have to order the part in which is fine but concerned as to how long it will be before the next one starts grinding and i need a replacement and stuck with the same situation. Regarding Flowta response... That is almost verbatim what i was told by a few known bike shops around CT with this not being standard anymore.

Hey all Apologies if the question has been asked before but I cant find anything that matches the answer i am looking for. I have a Merida TFS400(2010) and the BB has started making a grinding noise so I would like to replace it but only to learn that the shell is 73 and arent freely available anymore as they are mostly 68. I can get a new 68/113 but obviously a bit concerned that I will have issues with spacing when fitting. Any advise you could give on wheter or not it will be possible to put a 68/113 in and if there would be other tweaks required ? Or if that isnt possible suggestions or conversions i can do to remedy the issue. thanks

Hi there This may have been suggested before but just incase it hasn't... Would it not be possible to setup some sort of template for users selling their bicycles on the classifieds section ? It would save unnecesary going to and from the seller to get further information on sizes, age etc It would make it even better if they could not post without supplying this info. See attached for example.
