  1. I was with Dave coming across the scene of the accident. Not a good site to see. I did not want to stay to close with towing Nicholas for the first time after Ironman. Dave helped on the scene and I went to Teak Place to ask the medical crew to assist. I also contacted the police as well as some of the bikers, but the police did not show up, not even the flying squad. Do they still exist???????? We hope that all involved in the accident have a speedy recovery.
  2. Hi Guys Have not seen that the post has moved to chit chat. Thanks again for your support. We went out on Saturday afternoon to train but did not see many people out there. decided to go out in the afternoon since it was still raining in the morning. This weekend we will be taking part in the Soul City Sports Club World Aids Day Race 21.1km This run will be at the University of Johannesburg on the 29th.
  3. I was led to this forum by colleagues of my wife at her work. I am totally humbled at the remarks and the response that has been displayed here. Just reading the remarks brings tears to my eye and a lump in my throat. Yes, I am the Dad! The support and encouragement received while riding from riders and the crowd was fantastic. Yes we do train around the cradle and will be back there this weekend. I was so inspired by the video clip of Team Hoyt, which was sent to me at the end of April, that my son and I took up the challenge. See the latest SA Triathlete magazine. With my sisters insistance I set up a group on Facebook, Team Garwood. Thanks all for your kindness.
