  1. After watching the video - even though this is fitting a lefty to a BMC - it seems fairly easy. Only thing I need to get is a Torque Wrench to torque the bottom clamp bolt to 6Nm as per the video.
  2. It is a straight fit - no adaptors needed. I have never done this before though. Can someone then give me a rundown on how to do it.
  3. Hi Forum I need to have a Lefty Shock fitted to a Cannondale Taurine frame. The LBS has quoted my in the region of R450.00 to have it fitted. I would like to know if this is excessive or is it in line with the other bike shops. Thanks Steven
  4. My personal choice would be the Polar as I have not had any trouble with mine and the service centre in South Africa is well organised. Not sure about the Sigma Products After Sales service in SA.
  5. Wishing you well Bertus Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and wish for your speedy recovery
  6. After all the stories that are flying around in the news, I have my doubts about trusting them. But then again as the saying goes - good cop, bad cop
  7. If I had a single shock Cannondale I would sell it and use the money to uplift the community! Hi Gasping, while community upliftment is a good and necessary task, it would be a waste to sell such a masterpiece of a MTB (If you had one of course )
  8. I agreee with the fact that we don't need to have licenses for cyclists. If you have a drivers license (and got it legitmately) then you have passed a learner's exam and the actual driver's test and therefore you should know what all the road signs mean and how to obey then. For those of use who were in primary school before the 90's we were also subject to road safety education and this included how to cycle on the road as well. We are also at the most risk when we are out cycling cause a car hurts when you hit it (ask me I know) and I am sure we all take relatively good precautions to ensure that we obey the rules of the road and have a safe ride. We should be looking at the bigger problem here and that is that a lot of motorists (cars, trucks, taxis and even SAPS) do not have any respect for cyclists and think that they should not be on the road. I stopped cycling because of this and am now looking to start again but this time on a MTB
  9. Hey ST, my sincerest condolensces to you and your family for your loss of your dad. I am glad to hear that the idiot met his fate and karma. He got what he deserved. Maybe he did get off without feeling the pain that you went through but with the state of our justice system in SA he might have gotten off scott-free so it's probably better this way. You'll meet up with your dad one day in heaven where he is enjoying his care-free and safe cyclingstevenvj2009-12-08 08:13:04
  10. dimitri just posted this: She is fine and was released the same night with bruises to her face and chest.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> [/quote'] I am so glad to hear that the daughter is fine and that her injuries were not serious. Condolensces once again to her and the rest of the family with their loss. It is not easy
  11. It is always bad hearing about this and the guy in the bakkie is an arse. He might have been pissed off about sitting in traffic due to the accident but that still doesn't give him (or anybody else for that matter) to swear at people blocking off the road. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery
  12. This is very sad news and a terrible way to end a weekend. My condolences go out to his family and wish the daughter a speedy and full recovery They are in our prays
  13. I agree You do get the good ones out there that believe providing a good service is better than trying to suck the "life" out of people by robbing them with their pricing.
  14. EigerSA Thank you for this. I am most definitely going to make use of this number. Saved it in my contacts
  15. It is ridiculous. My wife and daughter went to a dentist and when I got the email notification from the medical aid, he billed the medical aid twice for the same appointment under two different dependants - 1 for the daughter who had been to see him and the other for my other daughter who has never ever been to him. I phoned him and confronted the lady who does his billing and she was like "Oh I am so sorry, it was a honest mistake and we'll get it reversed, etc". It was reversed but then he tried to do it again but under the pretence of it being some other service and now his LAB is trying to get another R600 odd out of me - to hell with them. Medical Practitioners think they can charge what they want - it's time that they wake up and realise that we are not there to make them get even richer than they already are
