  1. Haha Sorry about that. Lack of sleep getting to me...
  2. I live in Jhb, about 25km North of Fourways and work near Hartebeespoort dam. Close to Van Gaalens.
  3. Hey Yeah I know that but the thing is my time is so limited that I just don't have the time right now to get out to a cycle shop. I don't live or work in town so it makes things tricky for me. I am looking 2nd hand options but I need to know what I need to look for so that I know whether I should bother to make the trek out to go and see the bike after work...
  4. Hey So whats the difference between V-brakes and disk breaks? And further more what are hydraulic breaks? I wouldn't know the difference between any of these. Also as a novice I would really like to know what specs to look for in an entry level bike. I am truly struggling with all this jargon and I really don't know where to begin. Thanks!
  5. I was told this was not really useful. To take the bits and pieces from your old bike and add it to a new frame. Please don't use too much hectic jargon - I'm the newbie here!!
  6. Mmm OK point taken. But thing is I can't afford an expensive bike but I do think I will need something better than what I have if i want to do more hectic rides. I did the Argus on that bike and often on training with the bumby roads a struggled a bit with the tendons in my hands. Had to go for physio once it got so bad. So now what????
  7. OK those look good. Where do you get them from?? Any shop? What about Pyramid??? Or is that a swear word?
  8. Sorry Mutt - forgive me!!! I am coming in a blind man (er lady) here!!! I have NO idea where to start. I don't even know how to get my own bike fixed if it breaks!
  9. Not much... Less than 3k but the cheaper the better. I am really am skint...
  10. Ok Guys I am still VERY new to the MTB sport! I am doing my first ride on Sunday. Currently I have a Avalanche Tundra. Which I will use until I am used to things and decide how much I love the sport. I am on the lookout for a 2nd hand bike though. Something a little better than what I have but budget is an issue. What do you think of a Pyramid Bicycle? Good, Bad, Ugly??? I know nothing so I am looking for some advice. I want to get something cheap but at least good. What brands should I look out for??? Please help!!
  11. Hiya Trailriders sounds excellent and just what I am looking for!! My budget is not much at the moment. I would rather look for a better 2nd hand bike than a new one for the same price that's of less quality. I struggle with my wrists and hands so I am worried about the heavy jolting on my arms.
  12. Hi All I am new to the world of mountain biking and have so many questions. I firstly need to replace my old Avalanche with something with some suspension - whats good for a total beginner like me. I don't want to get into the sport seriously but just enjoy the pleasures of what the sport has to offer. Secondly do I need to join a club? I don't really know too many people the cycle but I would like some kind of confirmed thing that happens every weekend instead of having to always try and rope in some people together. I live in the North of Jhb... Any help will be greatly appreciated!
