The MTB trail does not use the same trails as the hikers. It does cross the hiking trails on three occasions. Hennops MTB offers some really stunning trails to suit all levels of expertise and fitness. The trails are colour coded and the main circular (single/jeep) track, 13km is green. For the beginner rider there is the option to escape and to complete only the River loop (5km) section. Branching from this main track there are various loops marked in blue to choose from, (Skeleton Hill, Kayalami, Pelindaba and Watergat) to create your own choice of distance up to 26km. Directions: Take the N1 West and turn off on William Nicol towards Fourways. Continue on R511 and cross the N14, turn left and continue on R511. Event Name: JMBC Dam2Dam 16 Dec When: 16 December 2018 Where: Emmarentia, Gauteng Category: MTB JMBC will be hosting an Extreme ride from Emmarentia to Maggies mostly off-road. So if you would like to join us you are more than welcome. Please confirm your attendance at this Extreme ride so Dave knows how many to cater for. You DO NOT have to commit to a ride group or distance just that you will be riding with us. Dave has planned two start points for the late risers and those wanting a shorter distance. Riders may start from either Emmarentia or Broadacres, then a choice of either a Red or Yellow route to Maggies. He is planning for two groups from Emmarentia to Logwood with Yellow arriving soon after Red. To follow the directions and where you will be meeting at each point. Please make arrangements or club together for lifts from Maggies as this is a point-to-point ride. Event Name: JMBC Recce Makiti 2 Tarlton When: 18 November 2018 Where: Makiti, Gauteng Category: MTB We all know that the 947 race/ride is on Sunday 18 November, but if you want to escape the chaos why not join Dave & Johann on a recce ride in the Cradle area. They will be starting from Makiti at 07:00 for 07:30, out towards Tarlton. It will be about 40km but will not be a hectic ride. Remember to check road closures and plan your “escape” in good time.
