  6. Hi all, I would appreciate some advice. I'm planning to buy a 29" but unfortunately the wife will only agree if I sell my current 26" DS. Is it a better option to sell the bike or to break it up and sell the components? Also what is a typical price for my bike, herewith the details: Specialized FSRxc 26" dual Rock Shox Tora 302 SL, 120mm FRONT DERAILLEUR Shimano Deore REAR DERAILLEUR Shimano RD-M672 SLX CRANK Shimano XT (external BB) CASSETTE Shimano XT REAR SHOCK Fox RP23 BRAKES Shimano XT RIMS Mavic Crossmax ST Continental X-king front (95%), race-king rear(75%) thanks
  7. The rear shock (X Fusion) on my Specialized is starting to give me some mechanical problems. Ever since the Karoo to Coast the lock-out is not functioning. I quest the shock can be serviced but this is now the opportunity for an upgrade to a better shock. Now three questions I would like to ask: 1) Which is the better/best shock? I’m currently considering the Fox RP23. But after visiting the LBS I noticed that some of the new bikes (Marida/Scott) are now equipped with DT Swiss. 2) The second question is around the travel and length. The current shock is 7.5x1.75 (187mm x 43mm), the closest size on the Fox is 7.5x2.0, this is 7mm more travel. Will this have any negatives? 3) My LBS was prepared to remove a Fox RP23 from one of the Marida’s and fit it on my bike to take it for a test drive. Unfortunately the bushes on the top mount were too wide and they could not fit it to my bike. Then obviously the third question is can you fit other bushes to the shock to make it fit?
