  1. A few friends and I started yesterday with the Green loop and so we ended up doing the Red one as well. Definitely had way to little water for the time that we were there. I must add, it's an amazing ride already with some very nice views from the top. It makes it worth it to do all those climbs. Can do with some more ST on a later stage. Thanks guys.
  2. DIS GREAT.
  3. You can also get a complete Giant TCR carbon for just over R20k. Keep in mind that there's two different types/designes of TCR carbon frames. I know that the one is a bit more expensive than the other.
  4. Look at the Merida 96 3000D. Ordered a 2011 model from Cyclelab for R21500 + great specs.
  5. Dude, not to pee on your battery, but if your dates are true according to your team captain, then you're in deep ****. Good luck.
  6. Now that you mentioned it. I haven't checked for myself. I see that Merida doesn't show the weight on their site. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference.
  7. Sharkie, I need to correct you on this one. The Merida has a 100mm travel and not 96mm compared to the Scott that has 110mm. As you also mentioned, both are very similar. Go for the best deal.
  8. Hi there, I've order a Ninety Six 3000D alum. for myself. It's an excellent bike and handles well. I've compared it to the Scott and the Giant Anthem X2. I've also taken all of them for a ride to feel the difference. My last choice was between the Giant and the Merida. The 2011 is not available yet and the specs vs the Merida is lower. Just look at the quality of the specs, shocks, rims, carbon sections on the Merida etc. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Giant has a float shock and Merida is remote lock out on the front and rear shocks. So it's either a hard tail or a dual susp. Merida all the way. Great value for money and it's a 2011 model.
My budget is so by R23k. Help asb. dankie,
