  1. I am looking at buying a new MTB that weighs about 2kgs less than my current one. It feels faster, but unfortunately did not have a speedometer. What difference would 2 kilograms make on a mountain bike?
  2. I read in other posts that people say the frame is quite important as you can upgrade the components as you go on. In this case the frame cost between R25 000 and R30 000. Is this not a good argument to go ahead and buy? (I am confused ).
  3. Thanx Wallas. Unfortunately, I need a small frame . By the way Trek is R20 000, but I think it is still too high with those components.
  4. I need some advice. I can buy the following bike (frame new, components 2nd hand): Trek Fuel Ex 9.9 frame (new) with new DRCV shock SRAM X9 Juicy 5 brakes LX Hallow Crank Front derailleur: LX Rear derailleur : SRAM X0 Rims: Fulcrum red metal 5 From shock: Fox float RL (120mm travel) This all for R25 000 The frame is brilliant, but the components seems a bit mix and match?
  5. Thanx Gummi. How would the Vista SL compare to new EA50 Aero's? Which is the better wheelset? (BTW I am in Pretoria - so the above ones might not work)
  6. I have a Raleigh RC 6000 and am planning to upgrade the wheelset. Should I go for new Easton 50EA or 2nd hand Easton Vista SL? What are the disadvantages of buying a second hand wheelset?
  7. Hi again. Sorry for not giving you the correct info. I am a female and just looking at riding in the neigbourhood and maybe some short events (up to 50 kilos).
  8. Hi guys Please help. I want to buy a mountain bike and decided on a hardtail. Relatively new in cycling - rested for more than a year Been advised by a friend to go for the Mongoose Tyax Super(2011). Can get it for just over R5k. Also looked at the Merida dfs 100/300, but the components on the Mongoose looks better. Advice please
