Event Name: Cape Duo Challenge When: 4 October 2019 - 6 October 2019 Where: Bosman Family Wines, Wellington, Western Cape Category: MTB The CapeDuo is South Africa’s most unique cycling event. It is the only event on the calendar that combines road cycling, mountain biking and a short, individual time trial into one event. Stage 1 : Road Stage 2: MTB Stage 3: Road Time trial Stage 4: MTB Day 1 Stage 1 of the 2019 CapeDuo consists of a 107km road stage that takes riders from Bosman Family Wines just outside Wellington over the Bainskloof Pass through the picturesque Slanghoek Valley before making their way back over Bainskloof to Bosman Family Wines, where the race is hosted this year. Day 2 Stage 2 is a 49km mountain bike stage on the Wild Boar Trails in the rugged mountains behind Wellington. Riders will ascent 1200m through a wonderfully varied route with great views and some punchy climbs while still treated to some fun, flowy single track. Day 3 is what sets the CapeDuo even further apart, combining Stage 3 and Stage 4 on one day. Riders first need to tackle Stage 3, a 27km Road Individual Time Trial before setting off on the 4th and final stage, a 25km mountain bike ride. A day like no other on your bike! Duo Team 2 Riders enter as a team taking on Road and Mountain bikes stages both contributing to final times. Solo Entry Price: R3,995 One Day Experience Those riders who can’t spare the full three days can opt to only enter on the Sunday and in doing so compete in the individual time trial as well as the final MTB stage.
