FACT: Burry was cycling North on the N2 towards Port Shepstone, when a Taxi travelling in the opposite direction failed to stop, crossed over a solid white line and hit Burry head on! Pretty clear cut if you have a look at the attached photo of the scene! A major concern to us is what message this sends out to other road user How many other innocent people will die and have died on our roads without any justice for the victims? Is this how we as a country pay tribute to one of our Sporting heros? Who did so much for SA, who loved this country so much and who was proud to be a South African? I hope not! But we will not let the matter be! And we are hoping that every South African will get behind us and our cause and justice for Burry!!! Duane Stander Burry's Brother

Andy Schlek: "I've been kept busy since my abortive ride at the Worlds. The last few days have been spent in Madrid at Specialized's - our team's bike sponsor - expense. They flew me and Burry Stander out and had us compete in a kind of cycling celebrity death match. Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme, but for anyone who isn't familiar with Burry, he's the World Under-23 mountain bike champion and most importantly, he's quick. Very quick. For a laugh - and I use that term lightly - Specialized had us ride up a 12-kilometre climb with me taking the road path and Burry fighting his way up the off-road trail to the top of the climb before swapping bikes and giving each other's sport a go. As you would expect we both dominated our disciplines but I had a great time on the mountain bike. I do a bit of it during the winter here in Luxembourg but it's been a while since I've been on a mountain bike. It was a lot of fun."

VAT is charged at 15% at the moment, not sure if you can claim the whole 15%. Retailers will complete a form that you hand in at customs at the airport, and then the money is transfered to your account. Not sure how this will work if the bike gets posted, but worth knowing if a friend is maybe passing by

Max and Jaques, I hope so. Brandon, Kevin and George I think we hear it every year. Only my opinion.

I would like to know Kevin's side of this story, not just Queen B's None the less very dissapointing! I'm glad Max kicked both their butts. This is no example for our younger riders, if this is the way these two experienced (old) riders want to behave maybe it's time they both moved over so that we can concentrate on developing our younger riders and our sport. Can't see them setting the world on "fire" Internationallty anytime soon or in the future. Maybe that's why they are getting so frustrated locally? Only my opinion...
