  1. My Garmin HRM strap/monitor and GPS does not link. Happened suddenly and know the battery was still OK and still quite new. I will replace the battery any way, but any idea where I should start with fault finding after that? Is it usually the strap that goes first (After battery)?
  2. Just some feedback. Bought the Ergon SM Pro. After about 200Km, I am starting to get used to it. Must say it was not an easy ride up to now, being quite uncomfortable and painful. Strangely my left side is still sore when I ride, right hand side is fine. Not an easy task getting the right saddle. I could not find a store that loan out test saddles for a period to see if it will work for you. Best is probably to do research and then hope for a good fit. Switching between saddles also does not work because quality saddles are quite expensive. Can't shop until the right one is found. Did anyone find that you get used to a saddle over time, and how long does it take to have a comfortable ride again? No fun riding with such discomfort. Also bought new bibs so probably not a problem there.
  3. Went to Cycle lab Lynnwood. They stock the Ergon SR for road bikes and SF Fitness saddles, no Mountain bike though. Even have a few Ergon grips. Also measured sit bones, seems I am the larger size. Ordered an Ergo SM Pro online at Trail Tech Cycles, Bit more expensive than the Comp, but bit lighter and seems like better materials used. Hope it was a good choice. Thanks again for all inputs.
  4. Any idea where to buy Ergon saddle? Could only find on Bikeinn so far. Never used them before. Know of anywhere else I can buy in Pta or order online? Anyone know if Bikeinn is dependable?
  5. Thank you for all the replies, so much to choose from. Think I will be going for the Ergon SM option. Did lots of research and looks like a good option.
  6. Heard great things about WTB and Ergon, problem is where to find them in Pretoria region? I suppose if I have sit bone measurement, I can probably order from Bike addict also?
  7. Thank you for the replies. Where can I have a look at Fabric saddles? I live in Pretoria I see bike addict sells them but think it is probably something to see and even try before buying. Will make sure to measure sit bones first. Currently have a 145mm wide low-cost saddle but very uncomfortable for me. Feels as if it is too marrow for sit bones. I know 145 is already quite wide.
  8. Hi all, I am in the market for a MTB saddle. Budget about R2,5000.00. So far looking at the Specialized power range as well as the Selle San Marco (At cycle lab). Any recommendations on which is better, or any other brand you can suggest? The saddle that came with my new bike is just hurting too much, would prefer a sporty comfortable saddle. Feedback will be much appreciated.
  9. Thank you all for the feedback. I bought an OIZ H30 from Cycle lab. So far very happy with the purchase
  10. Hi, did anyone ever had problems with this? Groupset and shocks are standard so should not really be a problem with servicing and parts available. On the frame side anyone has a comment? In my area Orbea is not that commonly seen so was just thinking. Thank you for any feedback
  11. Thank you all for all of your inputs. I have decided to hold for a while on buying the new bike. New bike day still to come though....Really hope.
  12. It is a Fox rhythm 32 shock. Will be interesting to know how the tube is replaced Guess it looks cool, but not everybody want to sit in that position for hours. I think this can be a real deal breaker for some buyers. If you buy a new bike, surely you want to be able to do a propper setup? Not clever move to cut is too short from the start in my opinion. will have a look at riser bars, but I often ride with my hands more inwards on the bars, to hide from the wind, so I prefer the bar to be straight thanks all
  13. Thanks all, think 30mm adjustment is reasonable, the bikes I saw had no room for adjusting the hight, stem is basically fit right above the frame. Currently have a hard tail MTB, looking to upgrade to full suspension. More or less same geometry, but my stem is lifted with spacers abour 30 to 40mm. Will look into possibility of replacing the steering tube.
  14. Safe seal works well in my tubeless tyres, suppose will also a good option for inner tubes.
  15. Been to a reputable bike shop last weekend and noticed all the steering tubes cut off reasonably short. Shorter than what I prefer the stem height should be. I also ride with a short stem, so the angled stem wont help in my case. Not sure why they cut is off so short. Any ideas to extend this? Saw some videos of an extender with aluminium gripping parts going into the tube and expanding when tightening the screw, but also saw that they slip inside the tube due to being aluminium and not gripping tight enough.
