  1. id recommend if you could stay with a big box brand ( giant, silverback, titan racing etc) because if it is not mainstream you will likeley have issues when servicing because of a lack of parts and this will make it more expensive in the long run. Don't be afraid of a 10+ year old bike as long as the parts are good and it has been regularly maintained ( shimano is the safest bet with an in house brand set of wheels or dtswiss wheels ) . expect to pay a bit more than 3k on a second bike but in the long run it will definitely pay off but you also dont want to spend too much on a commuter bike due to the nature of the bike it may be stolen , other than that happy riding
  2. I have an entry level bike that I think needs an upgrade in terms of a fork but it is really hard to find a decent straight steerer 29er fork so my only other option is buying an adapter . I have seen these on YouTube but every time I want to go to the link to buy it it does not ship to South Africa , does anyone know where I can get one ?
  3. i have just looked it up and currently you can get 105di2 for +/- R35 000 but on cycle lab you can get dura ace 11spd mechanical (lighter , better shifting ) for R30 000 . I would rather have dura ace mechanical than di2 105
