  1. Also thanks for the links. I found them too. They are just product brochures and offer no operating information.
  2. Ha thanks guys.... next time I need to know something I will ask here first. Save myself the frustration of Gooooogling. I am buying a factory building.... found the unit there with a whole lot of other stuff.
  3. Hi, I have just acquired an Everest Cleanex Ultrasonic cleaner. The type of thing surgeons and dentists use to clean their stuff. Is this a practical device to clean bike components such as derailleurs and chains? I also have no idea how it works. It heats Water, It has a timer and it has a selector switch with 3 settings. I have also googled in vain to try and find an operators manual. Please help G
  4. I am searching for a partner to ride the Sani2C with. I have a confirmed and paid entry for the trail event from the 15th to the 17th May. Even though I have no intention of racing I would like to ride as hard and fast as is enjoyable.I am 44 years old, ride and race several times a week. I think I am reasonably fit and finish most marathon and ultra races with an avaerge speed between 20 and 22 km/h. I would like to spend some time riding and training together so you should be Gauteng based. I frequently ride the Spruit, Northern Farms or participate in the local races .
  5. We have a team entry for the Sani2C Trail from 15th - 17th May. My team mate is quite a bit slower than myself and it appears that the "gap" will not be closed before the event. Is there anybody with the same predicament? I don't want to be forced to slow down to much, neither do I want my partner to feel pressurized to perform at my level. Anybody prepared to swap partners to even out the strengths. My stats are as follows. Male, 44 Years old. 77kg, healthy and reasonably fit. I am very comfortable racing 60 -80 km marathons, depending on the terrain complete these races with an average speed of 21 - 23 km/h. I have done one Ultra, The Hilton Dirtfest that I did in 6 hours. I finished the 94.7 in 3 hours. My partner is female, 45 Years old. I would estimate her riding at about 20% weaker than mine.
  6. I have the same problem, both hands get so numb that I have to look down for break and gear levers. I have tried various types of grips and side mounted handles...nothing seems to work. I am continously changing hand positions and if conditions allow shake my hands. I must however say that after about an hours riding I get some feeling back. Help
  7. I carry a can of Swat pepper spray. Two types are available, be sure to buy the direct stream rather than the dispersing type. It has an effective range of about 3m and is not as badly affected by wind. It comes standard with a beltclip that I have modified and attached to the Left downstrap of my Camelpak.(I am righthanded). Before every ride I "draw" a couple of times just to know where it is without looking. I ride the spruit regularly at various times of the day and have only ever used it on dogs. I was charged down by a Rottweiler, the dog, angrily growling at me whilst I was shielding myself with my bike. the owner didn't even call his dog. Hahhaha, you should have seen the dog **** itself when it got a full blast in its face. The owner then got all agro with me and almost got the same treatment.
  8. I will be spending my December holidays from the 12th to the 4th Jan in Eersterivier. The closest towns are Stormsriver, approx 42km and Naturesvalley approx 73 km to the west. I am looking to join up with MTB riders in the area for regular rides or just some info on a couple of good routes.
