Event Name: The TIB Insure BERG 100When: 22/03/2025Where: Nottingham Road Primary School, Nottingham Road, KwaZulu-NatalCategory: Mountain BikeThe Berg 100 is a 1 day 109km MTB/Gravel ride in the KZN Midlands. Aimed at being non technical, this races challenge lies in the distance. Riders will start and finish in Nottingham Road. The route is a loop in and out of the village. There are small sections of tar as you enter and leave Notties but the rest of the route is gravel roads and small section of jeep track. Elevation gain of around 2000m. Established 12 years ago this event has grown from strength to strength and continues to lure riders up for challenge to our doorstep! For those who cannot fathom 109km we have the Berg lite which is 67km. This follows the same gravel road format as the Berg 100, yet is slightly more distance friendly. The routes are through the green natal midlands but also incorporate amazing vast views of the Drakensberg. You are in for a treat! Established 12 years ago this race grows from strength to strength. The route may be gravel but the challenge is in the climbs and and distance. The 100km route takes riders from Nottingham Road through to Himeville. Our brand new first edition 50km route will start and finish in Himeville (at the 100km finish venue). Event Name: SA Gravel Champs - Go Gravel MidlandsWhen: 13/08/2023Where: Howick, KwaZulu-NatalCategory: Mountain BikeGoGravel Midlands offers MTBers, Gravel Grinders and E-bikers 140km, 100km or 60km route options through the amazing gravel roads of the Karkloof, KZN . The route is non-technical and takes riders through forest roads and jeep tracks. The scenery is a mix of the Natal Midlands farmlands as well as the vast Karkloof plantations. All routes will start and finish at the well know Karkloof Country Club. Our 2023 event will incorporate SA Gravel Champs (140 & 100km routes only). Event Name: Berg 100When: 25/03/2023Where: Moorcroft Manor Boutique Country Hotel, , Himeville, KwaZulu-NatalCategory: Mountain Bike2023 will be the 10th Safire Berg 100. This race is KZN's biggest one day event. Starting in Himeville the route takes riders out along the Southern Drakensburg, past green farmlands and through rural areas. The scenery will blow your mind! The descents are thrilling and climbs are testing... but worth it for the views they afford. The race ends 100kms "down the road" in Nottingham Road.
