Ride and Run Darling takes you through the beautiful, untouched single tracks and jeep tracks of Wolwefontein and its surrounding farms. The area is known for its stunning floral magnificence, and this year, with abundant rain, the spring season promises to be extraordinary. What better way to immerse yourself in this natural beauty than by participating on a bike or by foot! The routes are well-marked, marshalled, and equipped with water points to keep you hydrated and energized. Whether you're a novice or an experienced athlete, there are route categories for all levels. A flower fun fuelled day for individuals, groups of friends, corporate teams, and families.  The Start/Finish line is located at Living Colour in Darling, where you can look forward to delicious food, drinks, and a pumping post-event atmosphere. Thanks to good relationships with neighbouring farms, we are proud to announce that our routes will be completely free of tar road crossings. This year's event guarantees uninterrupted single tracks, challenging climbs, an abundance of flowers and greenery, and breathtaking views.  Ride and Run Darling - Wild Flower Edition Get ready for an unforgettable day of outdoor adventure with the following route categories: RIDE DARLING 40km: MTB and e-bike Starting time: 7h30 Water points: Water Point 1: 15km Water Point 2: 25km Water Point 3: 34km Route profile The 40km MTB route, with 650m of elevation, predominantly consists of captivating single tracks starting from Wolwefontein and winding its way to the beautiful !Khwattu. As you pass through natural fynbos, prepare to be amazed by spectacular sea views, and even catch a glimpse of Table Mountain. This route is moderate in technicality and promises a ride to remember. RUN DARLING 20km: Trail Run Starting time: 7h40 14km: Trail Run  Starting time: 7h50 6km Trail Run  Starting time: 8h00 Route profile The 20km run will take you through the single tracks of Wolwefontein and challenge you to conquer the unforgiving Klipberg Mountain, offering spectacular views over the village of Darling. While the route is moderate in technicality, the ascent will require a certain level of fitness, making it ideal for those seeking a challenge. For the 14km run, expect stunning single tracks that showcase the area's beautiful flora. It's a challenging route, yet the climbs are manageable, moderate fitness will ensure an enjoyable experience. The 6km run is a fun-filled route suitable for the whole family or those new to trail running. Event Name: RIDE DARLINGWhen: 06/05/2023Where: Living Colour, DarlingDarling, Western CapeCategory: RIDE DARLINGRide Darling traverses the beautiful, untouched single track and jeep tracks of Wolwefontein Farm and its surrounding areas. The route is well marked and marshalled with water points to keep cyclists hydrated and energised. Ride Darling is suitable for riders of all levels, from the novice to the experienced, and can cater to individuals, groups of friends, corporates, and families.  Thanks to developing relationships with our neighbouring farms and the hard work of our local cyclists you can look forward to the best routes Darling has to offer, untrammelled single track, decent climbs, breath-taking views and no tar crossings. The Start/Finish is at Living Colour in Darling, where food, drinks, and post event vibes await. This is a timed event. Entries include a collector’s fridge magnet ‘medal'.  Age: All ages welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Categories: MTB (E-Bikes welcome) Prizes: First Male and Female finisher per route (E-Bikes excluded) Entry Closing date: 1st May 2023 Registration: 6 May from 06h00 at Living Colour, Darling MTB ROUTES: 50km  1050m elevation This one is for the single track and technical enthusiasts. Cyclists will start off on an open dirt road, leading to a short climb around Klipberg. Some single track and Jeep track take you through the Diemersdal Vineyards (waterpoint at 14km) after which you will experience the 10km !Khwattu trail. A long steady climb on the way home, passing the same waterpoint, finishing off with the popular single tracks of Wolwefontein Farm.  Water points at 14km and 37km. 35km 650km elevation This route is for cyclist who are fit enough but don’t enjoy the twists and turns of our 50km route. The route is predominantly jeep track and includes beautiful views from the heights of Darling. We strongly recommend the 50km, but if you don't like a technical single track, this one is for you. Water points at 14km and 27km. 10km 120m elevation A farm style ride ideal for beginners and juniors. Rideable, fun single tracks of Wolwefontein Farm. Great route to break yourself in if you are new to MTB. You will start with an easy climb, a smooth road will take you down the slopes of Klipberg and a little peddle at the end will get you that medal.
