Thanks for the replies. I used the lane today and did not have an issue, aside for my back wheel coming off which caused a bit of a wipe... but all good though. Will certainly keep at it.

Hi there I am new to the forum and just want to touch base with some people that use the bicycle lane from Table View to Cape Town on a regular basis. I've seen plenty of complaints and comments around thorns and I certainly don't want to be fixing punctures on a weekly basis, then I may as well continue to use my motorcycle. My primary reason for cycling is for the exercise and ecco friendlinessand saving money, but if I need to replace tires or fix punctures the little money I'll be saving by not using my motorcycle will be lost. Is there any consensus on the state of the road and how often the lane is cleared? I am riding a road bike but will be getting a mountain bike as this seems to be the better option for commuting.
