From there the routes follow the old Hex River Pass railway line (through a tunnel romantically lit by candles!) towards Matroosberg station, returning with a different route to De Doorns. The long route is tough with lots of climbing and should only be attempted by fit, experienced riders. The medium route follows most of the long route except for one tough hilly loop. Both routes include great footpath sections. The short route is an enjoyable funride over mostly flat terrain and is suitable for the novice rider. DIRECTIONS TO VENUE From Cape Town, follow the N1 past Worcester to De Doorns. Take the De Doorns turn-off (30km past Worcester) and carry on for 400m before turning left into the De Doorns High School premises. NOTES This event has been called “A great ride with some magic scenery; smooth and flowing and well marked,” by participants. All routes run through Karoo succulent veld with a scenic view over the Hex Valley and its mountains. Standard PPA entry fees will be charged, except for the 15km, which can be entered at a discounted rate. All children u/10 must be accompanied by an adult. Go to Event Page
