  1. I had that problem on a wheel with Alex Rims that came with my Raleigh. The shop switched wheels/groupset and sold it cheaper. Bought it in December, used it most weekends, cycling to Fish Hoek or Simonstown, hung it up for the winter, when I took it off, half the front wheel spokes were snapped. The rear looked OK, but when putting pressure on, they also snapped, almost half of them, some I could snap in more that one place, without hardly a bend. The guy at LBS told me the spokes are not meant for our weather ???
  2. Hi , nice forum you have here. Thought I may add something. I'm a runner, hurt my right knee 18months ago, and pain just did not want to go away. Last October got on my bike, and guess what, after 2-3 40-60 km rides, pain subsided, after a month it was bearable. I now cycle a few times a week (60-80mins weekdays), 2-4 hours weekend, purely to strengthen the knee. What I am trying to say, is that for me a ride's definitely + sign, for prior knee pain. Exercise the muscles around without the pressure of running.
