  1. Keith, Ill be watching the Amasohba from the sidelines...heard its a tough one. Good luck
  2. Thanks to all's input, and Keith, dont turn arround when you ride your bike after the 94.7, cause there's an newbie on a Mongoos right on your tail...
  3. So I guess Mongoose it is then. They guy made me an offer, but he first want to complete the 94.7, hope he doenst change his mind after the race. - hold thumbs for me guys....
  4. I have been to both MONGOOSE and SCHWINN's webpage and I do aggree that Schwinn seems to focus on recreational cycling. I would, however mostly do recreational cycling as I am new to cycling, but I can get a 2nd hand Mongoose MTB in a good condition with all the bells and whistels (cateye, slick tyres for road use, clip-pedals,disc brakes, bar ends and a tool puch) for R2000. I have seen the bike in person, and it is in a really good condition. What to do......what to do...
  5. Hi all, Which is better as a mountain bike, MONGOOSE or SCHWINN ?

Hi, Can anyone please tell me if Schwinn is a good quality bicycle ? I've noticed that it is a USA make.
  7. Thanks guys, I got plenty of help from u all.
  8. And where do I stay then Bob, do I move in with you, and sleep on the Titus ?
  9. He he, you guys are funny, im starting to like the cycling crowd. . . but I still dont have a answer.
  10. Hi Id like to know what your thaughts are on the Trek 3700 MTB, Avelanche AX250 MTB and Mongoose Rockdale AiX MTB? My budget doesnt cater for a R11 000 bike, therefore, Im looking at alternative higher - entry level bikes. (R1500 - R3000 max), because as a newbie, I still need to get some safety accesories etc. Thanks for your speedy reply.jyzelle2008-03-31 04:29:23
  11. Im 1.8m tall - and thanks for the link
  12. And what about getting a MTB (with slicks/semi-slicks) for the road. I see plenty of MTB's on the road ? But I guess that defines the purpose of a MTB, right ?
  13. Yes, I am trying to figure out what size bike to look at, and because I am a newbie, Im not even sure yet if I should go road or MTB. . . Thanks for all the advice guys and gals.
  14. Even if I buy my bike at another cycling shop ?
  15. Hi I am a newbie to cycling and would like some advice on the correct procedure for bike fitting (frame). I have browsed the net and the general "formula" that everyone seems to use is 0.67 x inseam measurement and for a MTB you subtract 10 - 12 cm off above ?? Please help
