  1. when is the next ride?
  2. Hi Guys Saw a similar post but didnt get clarification. My local Total service station has N2 available. Ive used it in my cars for years and can vouch that the pressures stay contstant for longer than normal air. Will this hold true for bike tyres or are these just too "porous" for even N2
  3. Its a MTB I checked the pressure as it felt pap and it was 1.8 bar...thought I'd get it to 2.2 bar at least, but it seemed already firm. The sidewall has embossed 3.5-4.5
  4. Noob question here. Only have my bike for a week now. Does the tyre pressure values (min/max) required remain the same after using sealant in a tube? I ask this because my tubes had sealant put in when I purchased the bike and I find the tyres "hard" even before I've reached the minimum stated tyre pressure embossed on the tyre. Please advise.
  5. No probs mate It's good advice even any which way you look at it
  6. haha I did say I was a noob....last rode many moons ago...I'm scared of a slip in the wet.... I just need to get my confidence back...
  7. Thanks for all the great advice guys! So I bumped up my budget...(again!) and went for a 2011 GT Avalanche 2.0 that was on special for R4950 I have attached a pic (sorry for the poor quality...ipad camera) I cant wait to go riding...darn rain!
  8. Hi guys. This is my first post so be gentle. I haven't rode a bike in over 20 years (I'm 39 now) I want to get back on the saddle mainly for recreation/exercise. So now I need a bike. Been to a couple of bike shops and was overwhelmed by the variety of options. (remember last time I rode "western flyer" was the "in" bike) Now I seemed to have decided (or convinced by the sales guys) to go for mountain bike versus a road bike as it provides more versatility. Based on my budget (which went 20% higher after I entered the first store) I narrowed down my choice to a Silverback Stride 10 @ R4250.00 Is this a good choice. Any other options at that price or LOWER? p.s I am 1,8 m tall and weigh 85kg tRoN
