  1. Have a look at this website. I found it quite helpful. http://www.mtbroutes.co.za/garden-route-all-mtb-trails.html C21
  2. Hey all So I had my first MTB race at the Sondela MTB Challenge on Sunday. Great ride, great vibe, great organizing, over all great from their side.... And then there was ME. I start around the middle of the field and things go smooth, then we hit that sand section (the route description said "some sand" they should have said "cross the Sahara"). I get through that and think to myself, time to make up some lost time. Enter km 26 Puncture!!! No worries i have a spare tube, get that on, get on the way again. Enter km 41 2 Punctures (front and back, at the same time) and NO spare. I have heard that walking is a part of MTB'ing, but not this much So, heres where YOU come in Suggestions on where to go from here, Tubeless, Slime? Please Help C21 O ja, and let one of you say "stay on the path and out of the bushes" !!!
  3. Great Thanks!
  4. ok, So would I be missing anything if I never lockout?
  5. I bought a bike 2 months ago and did the same thing, by asking the Hub, "What to Buy" Most common answer was, "Buy the best you can afford" GREAT!!! But what is the best? What do I look for? To what do I compare the bike I see, to make sure it IS the best I can afford? Personal opinion, pop past your Local Bike Shop and speak to the guys that do this for a living. They will give you the best advice and physically show you what you need to know Good Luck!!!
  6. Hey all I've been riding since Jan and mostly been at Groenkloof. I took the bike on the road this weekend and came up with this question. What the purpose of Lockout of your front shock? Please help C21
  7. Head out on the N4 Highway towards Witbank (Emalahleni) Take the Boschkop turn-off (+- 3km past Hans Strydom) Turn right (South), 2km on the right - Rosemary Hill C21
  8. Howzit Did the trail on Saturday and found it quite enjoyable. I think the Night race is gonna be rather challenging, with all the sharp turns (especially in the forrest), but can't wait for it. Gonna be epic! Will definitely go ride again And for R20, its a BARGAIN C21
  9. Hey All I've been looking for a trail in the east of Pta and came across this place. Has anyone been there and what is it like? www.rosemaryhill.co.za (click on MTB trail) would like to go ride there over the weekend and I am quite interrested in the night races they have on the 1st of every month Thanks C21
  10. Hey all Based on the Topic "Bad ad on Supersport" I went out to Groenkloof on Sunday and came across this guy riding without a helmet and on top of that he had his (I would guess, 15 y/o) daughter, riding with slops There are quite a few signs saying "No Helmet, No Ride" and still its not happening. Dont people take their safety seriously or are they just that friggen stupid? Please guys WAKE UP!!
  11. Hey Has anyone been on this ride before? What was experience like? (Safety, Enjoyable, Etc) www.welgedachtestate.co.za Thanks C21
  12. Hey all So I followed some advice and went for my first (and second) MTB rides this weekend at Groenkloof. As I havent bought my own bike yet, I hired the ones they have available there (Raleigh - Nomad) I was very impressed with the condition of the bike and have to compliment them for that. Went on Saturday and got in over my head by going down the wrong single track. Went again on Sunday and this time stayed a bit more on the jeep trail, which was easier, but I could go a bit faster. The guy at the "Bikes for Hire" stand was very helpful and gave me some tips on where to go. Had a blast of a time and cant wait to go again. Thank you very much to the guys at Groenkloof Well Done
  13. Whakakaka! You had to put the last sentence in didn't you! Thanks Appreciate the replies Have a good one cheers
  14. Hey Rob Sorry about the misunderstanding then. I do infact know close to zero about bikes and accesories and have hardly looked at bikes on google. The reason for that, being that "I don't know what I should be looking for" (hence my previous topic) I hear you out when you say that anything cheap would be crap, but based on previous replies, I should look for something cheap and use that "till the bug bites" Now here's a direct question to you, what would you buy? C21
  15. Nope, if you have a look at the 6th reply (from "Hairy") you'll find the link Thanks
