  1. Mine's on it's way as well - hope to get it sorted before K2C!!
  2. Yip, no green gras and 4legged katte where I was riding............................probably slipped in. Nearest thing to a rooikat was the girl with the Landie at the bottem of Ouberg Pass...........
  3. Definitedly worth repeating and I think a great success. Pace and nutrition were the most important, and we had good fun along the route as well. Interesting to see how some guys who started too fast slowly got caught up and eventully were the ones suffering the most. Ouberg and the night ride was a newbie for me personally, and the last 50 km was much tougher than thought looking at the route elevation chart. The TK medal is one of the "must haves" in anyone book I would say. For scenic go Sani2C - this is just plain effort and grind, but the satisfaction of reaching Sutherland makes it worth every drop of sweat.
  4. I have managed to finish the TK last weekend, and know that the guy who won the TB last year was second behind Rainard Tissink in the TK. I did not manage to speak to either, but would like to know from anyone who has done both what they think is the tougher to complete. I do think the weather and everything played along nicely this year on the TK - if this was held two days later in that cold rain I doubt whether 50% would have finished.
  5. The average pace is set at 14km/h.............I have learnt at a very early stage how important keeping your own pace is. I can probably work on an 1h30 riding in the mornings, with weekends about 2-4 hours Saturday/Sunday. I think that should do it.
  6. Four of us have entered solo yesterday, and need some advice on what training to do in the three remaining months. I have a few 50k's under the belt, but not a single hundred as yet. Ouberg seems a daunting prospect at the moment - any advice from Trans Baviaaners or others?
  7. Four of us entered yesterday, but after much consideration we are all going solo - too much of a risk that a bike or rider breaks down totally, and then your effort is not official. Pack rules though dictate that we stick together @ all times!!! Three months of hard training lying in wait for us though - this will be no easy feat. Hitting Ouberg Pass at about 180km in the dark - nuff said!!
