I had the same thing. A load tick tick whilst pedalling, only on right side - worsened if i stood and climbed or just stood and pedalled. And as you said...got worse the harder u pedal - just the same. That was with a normal clip pedal - thought it was my BB also. For me, luckily it wasnt - it was the damn right pedal only. It was something that came and went - and when it was there it wasnt a pleasure to even pedal. After upgrading to clipless it vanished - no more issues!
