The previous editions of this MTB race were a well-kept secret, but to be fair to all MTB supporters we have to share the info, so here it is. There are 4 distances: 10km , 30km , 50km and on request by the die-hards a 75km route (last year 70km). The 50 km MTB route is very close to that ridden in past years. The 75 km is new, so there will be additional track added to the previous route. Event Name: Mad Mountain Marathon (MMM) When: 19 April 2013 - 21 April 2013 Where: Laingsburg Tourism Office, Western Cape Category: MTB Great Karoo, Small Karoo, Mountains and Beach. Chain Gang Events has managed to incorporate all of them in one of the toughest 3-day stage mountain bike rides, namely the Mad Mountain Marathon (MMM). The race will start in the historic town of Laingsburg and will follow a route via Prince Albert, Oudtshoorn and the finish in Sedgefield. Hi everyone, we would like to bring the above event to everyone's attention. I know it is a busy weekend for sport (especially MTB riding), but if there are anyone out there that want to have a fun weekend away (only 3.5 hrs from Cape Town) and want to come and enjoy the Namaqualand hospitality, please book your entry. We cater for all type of experienced riders (80km, 40km and 20km). For the runners and more active MTB 'ers we also have a trail run the afternoon in a beautiful section next to the Oorlogskloof nature reserve. The event will be at the same time as the annual Nieuwoudtville Agriculture show, so lots of activities for everyone. Please have a look at the website for online entries. Event Name: Wild Flower Weekend When: 13 October 2012 Where: Nieuwoudtville, Namakwaland, Northern Cape Category: MTB Three different routes to cater for all types of experience. 80km, 40km and 20km route.
