Event Name: Hessequa MTB Challenge When: 10 May 2014 Where: Riversdale, Western Cape Category: MTB The 88km race is rewarding for fit riders. This route has challenging climbs and descents. Expect a combination of gravel roads, jeep track and single track through beautiful plantations.The race starts at the grounds of High School Langenhoven, following 12km of gravel road out of town before reaching the beautiful Garcia forest, entering jeep tracks and exciting newly built single track for the next 17km.On the 32km mark, near the farm Romans Hoek you will find the 1km steep climb, dubbed "Die Hysbak".Thereafter, 10km gravel road to Korentepoort dam, entering 21km of jeep tracks into the Department of Forestry plantations revealing beautiful ferns and other indigenous flora. Proceeding to the 69km mark where the King and the Queen of the mountain will be crowned. Expect a nice descent with a "surprise".
