  2. Thanks for the support Nochain, we agree, that was our aim to make it a challenging race, and want to keep it that way. Finding the perfect route(challenging and safe) in Pretoria is now our main goal.

  6. Hi All Thanks to everybody who supported us on Sunday. We really tried our best and realise that there were some teething problems, but all the feedback will definitely be taken into consideration when preparing for next year. With regard to the marshalling issues, we regret that we were let down in certain places, but we acted immediately on those areas as soon it was reported. I myself had to man an intersection on Lynnwood road for about two hours, when we realised the extent of the problem. The matter has already been taken up with the involved parties, as we want to make the event safe and enjoyable for all riders. We're already working on ideas for the route for next year. Your suggestions are welcome. Glad to hear that most of you enjoyed the ride, hope to see you back next year. Everything will be bigger and better!!!!

  11. Hi Anine CSA membership is compulsory as we have to organise and register the race through Cycling SA. We use existing seeding figures for the race and starting batches, therefore the necessity for the timing chips.
  12. Karooryder. As this is a new race, it will not be a seeding event for this year. All the criteria and demand from participants will be taken into consideration for the event in future.

  14. Hi argie1. We had meetings with Metro this week and this particular issue was pointed out to them. They've undertaken to fix it very soon.

The routes and profiles can be viewed and downloaded as a pdf file from the main page under the "Home" tab and then clicking on the "Route" tab . It will be available on the i-tickets site from tomorrow as well. See you on the 9th and good luck with your training!
  20. Hi! The route was finalised and approved after months of negociation with Metro and other involved parties. Due to road works and upgrades we had to change the original planned route many times. We wanted a challenging route and will definately take your comments into consideration for next year.
  21. Yes, I am involved with the organising of the event. It is going to be a little bit of a challenge this year, we are very proud to have approval for partial road closures and Metro is fully on boad with securing the safety of our cyclists, we hope to get total road closure for next year. This year we have 230 Tswane Metro officials assisting on the day as well as some Think Bikie officials. The martials are all organised as well as the Time Keeping system. This is going to be a wonderful event this year and in the future!!! Hope to see you all there!!!

Total prize money of R300 000 is up for grabs!!!!!! Check out the website for route map and details on the different sections. There will be partial road closures in order to keep cyclists as safe as possible. There is also a fully supervised kiddies corner with a lot of activities planned for smaller children.
