Unfortunately for the first 15 years that the event was held the Road Traffic Inspectorate would not permit more than 1000 entries - they they gradually upped it - once the City of Durban endorsed the race It has grown Andydude - we have over 8000 pre entries - KZN's biggest race numbers wise! Good luck to all the riders this weekend - travel safely and we look forward to welcoming you at the finish at the stadium! Annie and Melissa

Quintob the race has grown - when we took it over in 1997 there were 300 odd riders - we're now up to 10 000 - the City of Durban is very supportive of cycling events - they give road closure almost every weekend for some event or other! Have an awesome ride! See you at the finish!

We had a report from our water point managers they say they did not run out of ice - ?? the race does not go through Pinetown so the bike jacking was not part of the race!

The race does not go through the centre of Pinetown it goes down M13 into Durban

Hey Falco we have more entries this year than ever before the Amashova is still growing! Our seeding is done by racetec! Anyone is welcome to drop down a batch or two! That is cool! We just don't permit anyone to go up to a better start time .. That will result in disqualification! have a great ride!

Sorry guys we dont have a sponsor and cant manage to put on the extra events without one we have a MTB batch in our road race and it is so popular the MTB'ers - they love the open roads and giving the skinny wheel cousins a lick!!! this year we have had to add an extra MTB batch - they're a fun group of riders that are competitive at the same time!

Nope you got it wrong - the Shova is R310 now in the last couple of weeks - it started off at R260 in March - if you find the fee too high enter early and enjoy the lower entry fee! Hope you enjoy the road closures and good marsalling!
