You don't have to re-install anything. I upgraded from Win7, all of my desktop software continues to work with no re-installation (that includes VS2008, VS2010, VS2012 and mulitple versions of SQL Server). I did this mid-project as well and didn't miss a beat. Smoothest upgrade I've ever done.
