#1 Race against yourself, especially for the ultra distance, trying to keep up with some else's pace can often lead to premature burn out. #2 Incorporate brick sessions into your training, really makes the transitions between disciplines significantly easier. #3 Nutrition must be tested and finalized during training, so on race day you know what you need to eat/drink. Don't try anything new (especially since there are always freebies in the entry pack, test them out on in a later training session).
