  1. I might have sabotaged myself there, my apologies to all who feel offended. I would also like to take the time to thank all involved for taking the thread off topic and making it about something it was never intended to be. A thread name change was always just a PM away. leons2009-03-13 12:22:25
  2. thats harsh! those amounts of cash sounds more at home in a story about drugs, running guns into zim and blackmail.
  3. splat - I guess thats one way of looking at it. Not that I would like to go and ride Malmesbury again and the Mast is 20 bucks or something on normal days(for the record I don't mind paying the 20). ASTANA - I can see your point. But my next question is why is entry to road running events so cheap? And as far as I can tell they get full results and times.
  4. Why do I feel violated every time I look at an advert for a MTB event? I guess being a student has something to with it. I am of course referring to the price one has to pay for event entry and the fact that it has now become common practice not to include some sort of price indication on flyers and adverts for events. This morning again, an email for MTN Cape Times Vigne a Vigne. Luckly I read the The Hub and know is kaak exspensive! The same thing for The Mast Challenge in Tokai in a months time. Only this time the added insult of making riders pay 145ZAR while runners only fork out 95ZAR. Someone did mention in another thread that it might have something to do with there being more prizes for riders, but on the other hand I guess that pisses of the runners(don't really care about that one)? But the cherry for me is when me and a buddy did a PPA event in Malmesbury. They force you to pay ekstra because you are not a PPA member but at the end of the event they do not have a time or finnishing position for you. I mean whats the point of entering then? I could just as well take my money and go and ride Tokai/Jonkershoek and have money left over to buy lunch. leons2009-03-13 12:09:44
