For races like the Epic, how does the Scott RC 10 with Scott TC ( traction control ) 3 modus / LO-TC-AT ? remote reb. Adj. / remote control compare to an Anthem / Top Fuel with a Fox RP2 or RP23

Thanks guys. Reading between the lines I get the feeling these are very similar and that it will be a case of personal preference rather than anything else. I can get a new 08 Top Fuel with full XT and Fox RL and RP2 for R15k - sounds OK?

Need to buy a bike for the 2010 Epic. What are the pro's and con's of these two bikes (assume similar components so let's just talk frame) or is it much of a muchness?

Guys Thanks for the info - this forum is really a wealth of information and I'm sure I will use it over the coming year I think I've narrowed it down to an Epic, Anthem or Scalpel - now I must just get a good sceond hand one at a decent price... Will probably have to use the trusty old HT to train in the meantime while my Credit Card recovers from the entry fee! XTR is obviously preferable, but will XT components last?

I have secured an entry for the 2010 Epic. I've been looking to upgrade my Merida HT to a dual suspension anyway, and I figure this is as good a reason as any. What are the views out there in terms of the best type of bike to ride the Epic with?
