So it been a while since an update.. Let’s recap... think this is why i started the topic in the first place so we can catch these oaks.. Some info from a friend of mine that recovered his bike , after being advertised on the hub… Another bakkie to be on the lookout for is a white bakkie with no number plates at the back , operates from Cloetesville , fine link to a a bust that happened in kuilsrivier where about 20 bikes and lots of parts got recovered from a guy’s garage , will try and get the list of recovered bikes. Unfortunately some bad news but I guess it’s to be expected. These people are clever and watch the hub/ gumtree for adds about bikes that got stolen and then basically just hold back the bike until its “forgotten” then place it on gumtree and the hub and junkmail and and and.. There are quite a couple of“ hubbers” we know off that was involved with this case, plus two bike shops…the naming and shaming will happen when I get some more info on everything, names etc.

Can’t give any details now but might have caught a lucky break with the police and a syndicate operating in Cape Town. But i can give some more info if you bike gets stolen. Stellenbosch is full of video camera's recording everything day and night these cameras are unfortunately mostly situated in centre of town, main traffic lights in and out of STB, see if there is not any camera's close by where your bike got stolen, so when you make the case with he police ensure that they get the video footage from the municipality and try and view with them (this is not always easy to do, but just insist)

hopefully i'll get some info soon? not as easy as just driving past and writing down adress...

so hopefully you can get to the above places with the police within a couple of hours and you might just get lucky?

ok some answers... bike was stolen between 14:00- 16:00, out of house i dont know if these guys bought MY bike but i do know they buy stolen goods, so the idea is to up the odds a little bit of getting your bike back if not insured.. as i find out more i'll keep posting. How do i know these places: i asked around and got more or less the same info from quite a number of these, lets call them " informants". who are they.. car gaurds, beggers, gardners, they all know where the so called " smokel huise" are in their areas so i asked a few to go show me where these places are and just drove past and got the adress... which i then gave to the police.. no recovery of my bike yet..

...another bike stolen, so why even bother.. Ever wondered where all these stolen bikes go? Police aint very successful in retreving any of these bikes, some with big price tags, gets sod for peanuts or the guys next ''hit'' of tik. I have been doing some digging the past week and have had more leads than the detective handeling my case. So the idea here is to list all the names of guys that buy these stolen bikes in Stellenbosch, the next step would be to list the guys buying these bikes from the "smokel huise". Strange thing is the police know of all these guys but did not bother to act until i asked them to come with me and approach these scum...DO NOT GO TO THESE PLACES WITHOUT POLICE
