  1. Thank you to all who replied to this topic and to those who read the piece. I think 'Lucky Luke' sums it up best when he says: Phil Liggett was 'a lovable, if confused old codger, until he decided to weigh in on his buddy Lance'. Phil Liggett, in the interview, seemed absolutely convinced that there was a plot against Lance and I believe that Phil really believed that at the time. Regarding the comments made by the person called 'Blackbeard' - I appreciate the time you spent reading my articles and take on board your remarks. Like most writers, I do wish to be read, and I appreciate this forum as one of the ways to promote the reading of the articles. I believe the topics themselves are worthy of debate. Regarding the comments on the playlist: The original idea was to pair music with the experience of exercise, using the sort of language one would find when pairing wine with food. It has not really come off as intended. At least we can agree on one thing though - that the music itself is good. I am not a journalist, although I revere the profession.
  2. For those of you who may not have seen my post on Lance Armstrong in which I basically call him a psychopath - I have followed up with an article on Phil Liggett. For those annoyed with 400 hours plus (7 tours x 20 stages x average 3 hours per day) listening to Phil Liggett during the Armstrong years, please check out 'The Mercurial Phil' on www.oncyclingetc.wordpress.com
  3. thanks for the feedback - I am very appreciative - definitely wanted to finally put the 'voice of cycling' into perspective! next up, after LA and Phil Liggett is the topic of Patrick McQuaid ...
  4. I have decided to follow up my Lance Armstrong article with one on Phil Liggett. For those who invested time in listening to Phil Liggett whilst watching Armstrong for seven years (around 20 days x average 3 hours watching per day x 7 tours = 420 hours), and are a little annoyed at the time wasted, I would humbly like to ask you to read my opinion on the commentator we know as 'Phil'. Please find the post 'The Mercurial Phil Liggett' on www.oncyclingetc.wordpress.com
  5. In the 1970s a psychiatrist called Bob Hare invented a 26 point psychopath test. I tried applying it to Lance Armstrong. Check out 'Why Lance Armstrong May be a Psychopath' on my blog www.oncyclingetc.wordpress.com
  6. I am an avid road and mountain bike amateur cyclist and have a great love of the history of cycling. I have been writing posts on a blog I created about a month ago called "The Marco Pantani Infinite Playlist". It covers cycling trips, as well as esoteric topics such as Game of Thrones and even an article on Steve McQueen. I would humbly like to ask folk to have a look and see if the material appeals!
