Don't know if it's good advice, but we went out for practicing on the weekend to Breedt's Nek - the climb back from the spaza shop is tough as nails. If you start out at the farm, go over the nek, do the extra round in the mountain sanctuary, and all the way back you get 70kms with 1300 elevation and a climb that is tougher than the toughest on the Namib Quest. I'd say if we can survive that, then we'll be fine. Final touch to our training is Clarens Marathon on Saturday, and the half marathon on Sunday then. Then tapering.

Did anybody successfully find someone that rents out mountain bikes? I need bikes for a couple of colleagues for the Cycle Challenge...? Any tipps much appreciated.
