Event Name: Langeberg Valley Xtri-Series When: 16 November 2013 - 17 November 2013 Where: Goudmyn, near Robertson on the mighty Breede River, Western Cape Category: Multisport The SA launch of the Xtri Series by the Xtreme Company based in Hout Bay. The Xtri-Ultra will be held at 0900 on Sunday 17. November. The swim is in the beautiful Breede Rive between two iconic wine estates-van Loveren and Viljoensdrift. Great for novices as the water is warmish, sweet and you are not too far from the river banks, better than doing your first one in the ocean, being dumped by waves, swallowing salt water and trying to survive in cold water. The cycling course has been selected by Stephen Weyers who regularly helps with Cape Epic route planning in the area and the run is through beautiful scenery across wine estates in the valley. 1.5km swim, 27km MTB and 12km trail run. A sprint version starts on Saturday at 0900-800m/15km/6km. Each leg of the off-road triathlon can be done on an individual basis in varying distances. Great family weekend.
