Event Name: Die Burger PPA Cycle Tour When: 1 December 2013 Where: Stellenbosch High School, Stellenbosch, Western Cape Category: Road Die Burger PPA Cycle Tour takes place on Sunday, 01 December. This popular race is the second-largest cycling event after the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and will once again start and finish in the heart of Stellenbosch, at Stellenbosch High School in Jannasch Street (off Merriman Street). The event offers participants the choice of two distances, a 44km and a 97km route. The somewhat easier 44km route offers a scenic ride and is perfect for novice cyclists to use as a training ride in preparation for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. The much more testing 97km is the final seeding opportunity for the 2014 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour which takes place on Sunday, 09 March 2014. Event Name: CORONATION DOUBLE CENTURY When: 23 November 2013 Where: Swellendam show grounds, Western Cape Category: Road The Coronation Double Century, a challenging 202 km team cycling event renowned for its camaraderie and team spirit, will take place on Saturday, 23 November 2013, starting and finishing in the historic Karoo town of Swellendam. Celebrating its 21st birthday, the Coronation Double Century is limited to 200 teams, with up to twelve cyclists competing per team. The challenging route passes through areas of the Overberg including Montagu, the Tradouw Pass and the tough 7km Op De Tradouw.
