  2. Sam Sanders and Marc Pritzen claimed the women’s and men’s South Africa Marathon Mountain Bike Championships at the Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival on Sunday, but there was nothing similar in the way they won their respective national titles. The 41-year-old Sanders used her endurance to grind out a huge nine-minute victory over Bianca Haw and Danielle Du Toit, with Sarah Hill just missing a podium spot. Meanwhile, in the men’s race, Pritzen claimed the title after a four-way sprint that saw him edge out Marco Joubert, Michael Foster and defending champion and teammate Wessel Botha. Sanders powered away on one […] View full article
  3. Dan Loubser not only won the 2025 36ONE MTB Challenge on Saturday, 24 May, but also shattered the course record and the 13-hour mark in the process. The Freewheel Cycology man’s time for the 356 kilometre course was 42 minutes and 20 seconds faster than Drikus Coetzee’s 2022 benchmark, as well as 25 minutes and 3 seconds quicker than the 13-hour goal. This ensured that he would take home a performance bonus to top up his winner’s prize purse to R36 100. Women’s winner, Yolande de Villiers, also broke the course record, knocking 10 minutes and 59 seconds off her 2021 […] View full article
  4. When we got our hands on the all-new Mercedes-Benz Vito Mixto Select, we knew exactly where we needed to take it. The Cradle of Humankind is the most popular road cycling destination for Johannesburg cyclists. As Cape Town locals, we simply had to see what all the fuss was about. Launched a month ago, the Mercedes-Benz Vito Select—available as either a Mixto or Tourer—is the second van, alongside the V-Class, to join Mercedes-Benz’s passenger car lineup. The Mixto offers space for up to five passengers, while reserving a generous 4.1 cubic metres of load volume in the back. This makes […] View full article

  7. Jan Withaar won two stages en route to the 2025 Glacier Waterberg Traverse title on Sunday, 11 May. The foundations of the Insect Science Azimuth man’s victory were laid on Friday and Saturday when he established a 5 minute buffer over Jaedon Terlouw. The PYGA Euro Steel rider won the final stage, but could only reduce Withaar’s advantage by 1:52. In the women’s race, Adrienne Moolman also claimed two stage wins, before Yolande de Villiers won on the last day, but the GIC rider had done enough to win by over 8 minutes. The real spirit of the Glacier Waterberg […] View full article
  8. Marco Joubert and Tristan Nortje (Imbuko ChemChamp A) and Sarah Hill and Sam Sanders (Efficient Infiniti Racing) are the 2025 KAP sani2c champions.  KAP sani2c is known as the fastest stage race in the country, and the winning men’s team general classification time this year is over 18 minutes faster than at last year’s race. This gives some indication of just how fast the racing was in the men’s race, with the top teams being neck and neck for much of the  race. Joubert and Nortje were consistently stronger over the three longer days though and took a deserved win […] View full article

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a seasoned competitor, the Glacier Waterberg Traverse at Summerplace Game Reserve from 9-11 May, less than three hours from Johannesburg, is your ideal event. Here are eight good reasons why. 1. It’s an escape Although Summerplace Game Reserve in the Limpopo province is a bit of a drive, it’s under three hour’s drive from Johannesburg and even less from Pretoria. 15. Press Release The Shale is our take on a modern enduro machine—capable, confident, and ready for whatever the trail throws at it. Sharing the same proven suspension platform as our Link E-bike, it’s built for riders who want a bike that feels stable at speed, efficient on the climbs, and controlled in the rough. Its progressive geometry strikes a balance between confidence and agility, with a slack head angle that keeps things steady on steep descents, a steep seat tube that positions you efficiently for climbing, and a moderately low bottom bracket that helps the bike feel planted without losing […] View full article
  16. Gravel riding may be booming now, but back in 2004, it was already a thing in South Africa. With the re-launch of the legendary Crater Cruise in 2025 (Sun 8 June), we’re taking a ride down memory lane to remind everyone that long-distance gravel adventures on South Africa’s secondary and tertiary roads were already attracting bunches of riders more than 20 years ago! It’s impossible to forget that first event in 2004, when mountain bike legend Mannie Heymans soloed to victory on the 101 km route in a lightning-fast 2 hours and 57 minutes—riding a 26-inch Focus mountain bike with tubes! Even back then, […] View full article

Bianca Haw and Hayley Preen, riding as team TitanRacing SE Honeycomb, powered to the African Jersey title and third place overall in the Elite women’s field at the 2025 Absa Cape Epic, racking up three stage podiums along the way. They thrived in the brutal conditions that defined this year’s race, with Bianca’s post-race interviews adding a dash of much-needed humour to each stage. Here we take a closer look at Bianca’s Titan Racing Cypher RS Carbon Team. The intense gradients and stage variations made this the year of chainring swaps and Bianca was no exception. She used a 34T chainring […] View full article

Keegan battled back problems throughout the race which meant that the team had to settle for a single podium finish, placing third on the final stage. Despite the setbacks, the duo delivered a masterclass in resilience; fighting through each stage and continuing to push on in support of the causes they were representing: Outride and songo.info. As a three-time Cape Epic winner, Matt knows a thing or two about bike setup for ‘the race that […] View full article
