why is it that there is no control for the entry costs for a race. Surely we are not succeeding in promoting road racing, when you are paying R285.00 for a 100k race and R130 for a 40k race. AND these are the "early bird" fees, ie a discounted price! Cyclists should do something about it!
Trust me Wild Mountain is awesome... we've been there! It was extra difficult to leave. loads of fun, excellent food, a perfect getaway spot to relax, unwind from work and get in some good training at the same time .... check it out
i also purchased a camelbak mule, and only paid 10% customs fee and the normal 14%, so i gather customs codes it as bike parts and not clothing. - if you're unsure call customs they are actually quite friendly
its not only on clothing by the way - i recently got nailed on shoes! 30% customs imports duties and also the 10% customs clearance duties as well but be more careful on items you order, debit the credit card as they are "in stock", then chain reaction cycles figures out they dont have the stock, so they credit your card at a different exchange rate, and the loss goes for your account, even if its their error . the spread in the market rates is huge - beware
