I appear to have stripped the thread on the backing plate of my XT rear derailer when I replaced the jockey wheels. The shop is now suggesting I buy a new derailer at R1000 !(no surprise) Any suggestions - wondered if anyone had a "broken" XT rear derailer that may have an ok backing plate.
