  1. Loving this bike...running a 32/15 gear ratio on a 650b frame. Carbon rigid fork in the post !
  2. Really looking forward to doing it ss..do you know what the equivalent rear sprocket would be on a 650b..can't seem to find a calculator for the 650b yet ? I'm also running a 32 upfront.
  3. Great...bmx chain and front dh tensioner on the way from Diald bikes. What a bunch of champs..very helpful and efficient ! I plan on changing rear sprockets for Sabie experience in December. Anybody else riding ss category there ?
  4. I think I was just lucky with the sprocket selection. How much free play should the chain have , mine seems to have stretched a bit after only 90km this weekend.

  6. Great thanks ! I will give the dh style roller a chance first. I have a rear dmr tensioner that's in a box , I'd prefer it to stay there , lol . Thanks again for the help. Where can I get a dh chain guide like that ? And do they fit square taper cranks ? Possibly asking a lot of rookie questions.
  7. I understand that , I have done many road and mtb races. I am asking about specific races for ss ?
  8. What a boss...Thanks guys. That first one with the dh chain guide is the best option I reckon. The rear tensioner spoils the clean look. What gear ratios are you guys running on 650b's for trails such as avianto blue ? Where can I find some single speed mtb races in gauteng ?
  9. Hi guys ! So after riding my fixie for a while , i bought a momsen Al651 with the intention of converting it to ss. I have everything working perfectly without the use of a chain tensioner. I was lucky with the gear selection , running a 32x15. The problem is that I will be changing the rear cog to a 14t as I over pedal on flat sections. Is anyone using an eccentric bottom bracket or has slotted the rear of the frame to get chain tension without using a chain tensioner ? I heard there is a guy in Parkhurst who is a single speed mtb legend , anybody know his name or have contact details for his shop ? Thank's in advance for the help.
