  1. just got a mail saying: Hi Pls place back on the web as the comments have been welcomed through all versions 2 to 5 by the parents as being informative and providing guidance Abdul i responded: Great I?m sure the parents also welcome the detailed individual attention each athlete received [with the comments being almost an exact copy and paste for each rider, why waste time on giving each rider their own feedback?] With this wonderful individualised program in place, I?m confident that we'll see South African Cycling ride home with a clean sweep of gold medals in the 2016 Olympics. We'll be able to build on our massive successes in the past. Or perhaps we will be able to see one more riders in the Tour in future years, we really are snapping at the heels of the Australians. They must be worried sick that their superb showing in professional racing will be trounced by our sheer depth of talent, of which we don't squander on ounce. They'll have to accept that their talent scouting, youngster motivating, physiological testing, morale boosting, nutrition optimising and career coaching is all just fancy pants modern mumbo jumbo, when all the little twits need is a good old fashioned negative reinforcement. Don't listen the to the highly qualified experts in high performance cycling, with proper structures in place for talent management and development. Let's go back to basics, back to army principles, from the 1960s. Our heads are in the sand for a good reason - so no one can knock them off of course! I must forward on my congratulations and compliments to the minister of sport, Remind me please
  2. I saw it! That spreadsheet is genius, very constructive comments. I?m sure the British track association applied this nurturing approach to their youngsters too. ?Cavendish, don?t get carried away with trying to win on the road . Use the road as good training for the track . Wiggins, your riding was not up to scratch. Pls advise if you are a sprinter or endurance rider? That?s all Mark and Bradley needed when they were juniors, just a terse note on the end of an excel spreadsheet and they became superstars. Encouragement, guidance, training advice, nutrition guides, psychology, properly trained coaches, non corrupt officials ? Chris Hoy didn?t need any of that to win 3 Olympic gold medals. Never. He just needed a stern word on an email circulated to all his peers. Public humiliation, that always works in bringing out the best from young, fragile impressionable athletes.
