  1. Not sure, hoping so.
  2. Thank you I'm sure they did but im taking it to VW to give the all clear 😀
  3. Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's input! Appreciated. The lights are now working! Was a simple extra cable needed to fix to the car battery! ZERO extra money spent! Stoked!
  4. So to update. Picked up the car, asked about warranty. No it's not void, I just need to take it back to the guys who installed, get them to make it work and then take it back to VW to confirm all is correct and working. The relief!
  5. After all that, VW says they cant fix it and I must go back to the place that installed the tow bar 😐 This is madness!
  6. Car is in today. Hoping and wishing this is not a costly fix
  7. What year model is your wife's Tiguan?
  8. Well im pretty sure when I take it for a service again, they will note a towbar fitted - not by VW.
  9. Its more of a worry in terms of the warranty being void. Nothing to do with me throwing money away.
  10. Correct! My thoughts exactly! But it seems thats how they get you
  11. See above post. Decided to book into VW tomorrow Will report back once I have an answer from them.
  12. C&J Towbars (Bullbar Cape) their service is excellent. Brink towbar fitted which according to them has a built in Module I have decided to book the car in VW tomorrow - see what they quote me or what the problem is. I will report back once I have some answers.
  13. What I don't understand is how can the tow bar company cannot be aware of this issue? Surely they have put towbars on VW T-cross before 🤨 They told me they have never had this issue before and 70% of their clients put towbars on for bike racks. If I may ask, was the module very expensive?
  14. Thanks, hoping I don't have to pay 1 months salary to get it done
  15. Yes, its an aftermarket tow bar. VW wanted to charge R 20,000.00 for tow bar and fitment VS R 4500.00 for aftermarket decent tow bar. So the question is, if I take it to VW, can they make it work?
  16. I had the tow bar installed on Tuesday this week. The guys say they will have a look but im really confused now. Either take directly to VW or back to the tow bar guys. VW charges insane labour costs.
  17. Thank you. Was hoping I wouldn't have to go to VW and could go to any auto electrician - they charge R 1,000.00 an hour just for labour. Pay I must 😅
  18. Hi Guys Thanks for the responses. So my bike rack works on other cars but other bike racks don't work on my car. If the ignition is turned on, the bike rack lights work, as soon as I start the car the lights go off. I'm in a pickle 🤯
  19. Hi Guys I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a tow bar installed on a VW T-Cross however, my Thule bike rack lights don't work when plugged in. It seems to work for the first few seconds and then just cuts off. I am thinking its either the car "computer" cutting off supply to the lights and needs an override or there is a short somewhere on the actual bike rack wiring and the car is picking this up - cutting off power to the rack electrics. Do I go to an Auto Electrician? Thule? Who looks at bike rack wiring? If anyone can shed some light or give me some ideas I would be grateful. Thanks!
  20. I bought one from Cape Union Mart (K-way) hiking hip pack. I used my discovery vitality points so literally paid R100.00 for it but they retail for R399.00. So far im very happy with it. No bladder, just for spares and extra water bottle space. https://www.capeunionmart.co.za/products/k-way-athlon-bum-bag/100265481-C27.html
  21. Hey dudie!! I knoooooow, just thought I would look for other riders who maybe already have a group that rides there often, need to get over my fears riding Tokai I get to the car park and tense up 😅 Maybe Sunday we go but I will message you 🤘
  22. Thanks 😊 I'm looking for more of a social group than paid group rides. Just to mess about on the trails and have some fun sessioning.
  23. Awesome! Hi Mike
  24. Hi Guys I'm wondering if there is a group I can join at Tokai to session features on the DH lines and all trails really. Need to stop crashing so building riding confidence at the moment. Send me a message or leave me a comment. Cheers Megan
  25. I can confirm what everyone is saying about Meerandal. I am nursing an injury so decided to go out and test my ribs for a short ride at Meerandal (I haven't been in months) on Saturday. It was AWFUL! The trails are so overgrown you have to walk as the weeds kept getting caught in my handlebars. The bottom section is so rutted out its not possible to ride. Last time for me!
