Hi Gents Its new build time for me. Sold my SS and regretted it straight away. So this is my new 2018 29er Talon build. We all have our own preferences . I am so over chain tensors . What works best for me is just using a rear chain derailleur . I am not to worried about the weight .

Well , I did trailseeker yesterday and I love this bike. Its handles like its on rails. Few unexpected things. I cant use my park tool chain cleaner any more ( not the end of the world) Basically have to take my chain off to clean it now. Just have one question, about chain tension. How tight should it be?

We weighed my wheels , they are heavy. I will get a set of 29er wheels and then I will be well below 10 Kg. My fork stays . I like it. But this bike is all about the horizontal drop outs for me. I wanted to loss the chain tensioning device . The stock hubs on this bike are build for a tank. And yes I am a weight wennie. I am doing trailseeker tomorrow , lets see how she rolls. Dam I love this bike. Geco guys thought it was funny to put the bell on it , so it stays for now.

Ok so the Scott is gone and have the bike I wanted. Giant XTC . I will be picking it up tomorrow . Of course its derailleur is coming off . I ditched the dropper post. Carbon handle bars going on. I am keen to see its new weight. The Scott was 12kg . Sub 11Kg will be awesome. Pictures to follow .

Now to try it.

They say it only 1% more rolling resistance than 27.5". We will see. I will get a set of 29er wheels , for those long flattish rides. Must say , I am liking the boost hubs.

I am so over gears. I am selling the Talon and have bought a Scott Scale 720 Plus . I am getting it tomorrow . I will remove all the BS and make it sexy. If you out on the trials and you hear someone shouting " Gears are for pussies " , its probably me. Pictures to follow .

Hi Guys Here is my SS. I started out with a new 2014 Giant Talon. 27.5. Its so funny I have a 29er Scott 910 Premium. (1x10) and now am using my 7k bike more. First I used a Rapide Tensioner , but doesn't work to my liking so I used the original derailleur and am as happy as a pig in ****. Any SS rides or groups in Durbanville?
